The Disconnection Project

Storytelling Initiative · Book in Progress

The COVID-19 pandemic reshaped more than routines. It changed how people relate to each other. In the quiet, in the distance, something deeper shifted. Isolation became normal. Avoidance became safe. And even as the world reopened, many found it harder than ever to truly reach out again.

The Disconnection Project is an ongoing collection of real stories from real people about what the pandemic did to relationships, social instincts, and the sense of closeness. It is both a time capsule and a mirror: a way to remember what was endured and explore how to come back to each other.

These stories are being collected as source material for a forthcoming book exploring how disconnection became the default, and how people can rewire themselves toward community, friendship, and trust.
